Education

Graduate student in Bioengineering at University of Washington. Class of 2011, Bioengineering and Premedical at University of California San Diego.

Experience

I am always excited to teach. I have been teaching all my life. It is not enough to say that love teaching; it is in fact more accurate to say that teaching is a personal calling. I love the progress of explaining difficult concepts in a personalized way, perfectly tailored to my student's personal understanding and growth. I have been tutoring for 6 years through a variety of college and high school subjects. (Biology; Physiology, Genetics, Biomechanics, Static Mechanics, Dynamics,...), engineering math (Multivariable calculus, Linear Algebra...), and engineering programming (C, Matlab) courses. In addition, taught Unix, and biostatistics. In short, I am skilled in giving my student the best understanding of the subject. I give an interdisciplinary education of a wide range of subjects. I am experienced in the full course gamut that is involved in Bioengineering, including: 1. Engineering mathematics: Single/Multivariable calculus, Differential equations, Vector Calculus, Linear Algebra 2. Engineering physics: Mechanics, Statics and Dynamics, Continuum mechanics, Biomechanics, Linear circuits, Orbital mechanics 3. Biology: Mammalian Physiology, Genetics, Neurobiology, Metabolic and Structural Biochemistry, Biomaterials, Bioinstrumentation 4. Chemistry: General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry G. Writing: Bioethics, Law and Society, Power and Justice, Ethics and Society SAT: 2290 GRE: 165 Verbal, 166 Quantitative, 6.0 Writing My breadth of understanding of a wide variety of fields is my greatest strength; it allows me to call up on a sea of analogies, comparisons, models, and what I call interdisciplinary synthesis - grasping one subject through another. After all, every field of knowledge is related. I follow up to each individual lesson and try to make sure from differing facets that the knowledge is not just memorized -- but also understood and incorporated to the greater understanding of a field. I am currently doing research at a neuroscience lab at University of Washington, as well as a neuroimaging/neuropsychiatry lab at UCSF School of Medicine. I have 11 publications in major research journals in the fields of neuroimaging, neuropsychiatry, and optical engineering.
