Experience
I attended Pacific Lutheran University to earn my bachelor's degree in sociology. My concentration was family and gender studies, and I also earned a global studies minor. I then moved on to the University of Puget Sound, where I earned my masters degree in school counseling. I've 10 years of experience tutoring students in a variety of subjects. During this time I've had the opportunity to tutor students in Latin America, Africa, and the United States. I currently work as a guidance counselor at the middle school level. I love helping students learn, build their work ethic, and have fun along the way. I believe any student can be successful learning any topic given the proper resources and time. My specialties as a tutor are writing and math. When I have some free time, I cheer for Seattle sports teams, read, explore the state of Washington, and spend time with my cat. I'm looking forward to tutoring students in algebra, elementary and middle school foundational math topics, reading, writing and essays, English grammar, study skills, and test preparation for the STAAR assessments and other similar exams.
